For those who have the hip shot double shot on their reso, what string sets do you use to accommodate the two tunings ?

I have DoubleShots on 3 resonators, and have used a variety of standard resonator string sets over the years, including
D’addario NB1656
D’addario EJ42
GHS1600 Americana
Stringjoy Naturals 16/56
Straight up Strings
And probably a few more that I’ve forgotten.
Current favorites are Stringjoys and D’addario NB1656, depending on the axe.
With G tuning and Open D as the chosen tunings, I’ve personally found nothing inherently different about choosing strings for DoubleShot equipped resonators, vs. non equipped.
But if I change string brands, I usually need to tinker with the fine tuners a bit more to dial in the G tuning on the first go with the new brand/set.

What Jamie said. 16-56, usually D'Addario. My normal G tuning preference
Use for your "high" tuning the strings you normally use for that tuning. For the "low" tuning, you will get some strings with lower tension (and the Doubleshot adjusts the strings that don't "change". Magic).
Better that way than, say, a set that works for D tuning and cranking it up to G.

Jack is a veteran player and a luthier, so I'm sure he knows this.
But we all know the definition of "assume," and it wouldn't surprise me at all that someone favors D tuning along with G, and puts on something like a .70w 6th string and potentially runs into all kinds of problems.
A little like the early years of the Fishman Nashville when quite a few players would mangle the pickup during installation and they're out a couple hundred bucks in paying for the mistakes.

I’m using Black Diamond now, mainly because they are/were the best deal when I needed to replenish my stash. 16-56. They sound fine, no huge difference from the others I’ve used. I don’t think the DoubleShot will pull a string bigger than 56 from D up to G. It’s pretty much maxed out doing that.
