I don't believe so. Mike's 8 string recordings were a few years later. I believe that "Old Dog" was released on vinyl in 1978 and "Eight String Swing" released on vinyl in 1982. In 1981 the Scene released "Caravan" on "After Midnight" (vinyl).
- edit - Just checked my vinyl. No 8 string credit. There is a pedal steel credit though.

I think that Caravan was on the Eight String Swing LP; Stompin’ At The Savoy was on the After Midnight LP. Both great numbers beautifully played by Mike and the band. I agree no eight string on the Old Dog LP. Lots of nice picking on that one too.

Never heard Caravan on strings and this comment has nothing to so with reso but reminds of one of the best movies ever made on a musical theme "Whiplash". It's about a jazz drummer and a teacher (played by J.K.Simmons for which he won just about every award worldwide for best supporting actor). The song Caravan is featured in the movie and plays an important role.
