Hi, I have seen tasked with dating and determining value of a Dobro. It has an 8 numbers serial with no letters. What I have gotten to is post Gibson era from the much copy pasted serial list. Pretty sure it's a model 27 as the tag in the case says #27 $2499. 1st numbers is an 8. So 1998 2008 2018 I have attached a picture. Thank you Steve

It's early - I will try to post more info later with a formula which may or may not be totally accurate.
Right off it appears to be from 1998, which was the first year Dobros were built in Nashville after Gibson shut down the California operation in 1997. They bought Dobro in 1993.
We need more photos of the guitar from different angles. Top, back, headstock, etc. If it us in fact a Model 27 it will be lacking the three small holes between the coverplate and the end of the fretboard that are found on most Dobros.
Now that you are a member with a couple of posts you should be able to upload them here in posts from the photo library your cellphone in by using the area for photos below, rather than having to go put them on your homepage. If you are having issues with it we can walk you through the process.

Way back in the day, about 90 years ago, a model 27 was sold for $27. Worth more today.

I've played one of those before, it was a real nice instrument.
