For the past few years or so I've run across a number of new players in the area with questions about theory, technique, guitars or just the general world of spider bridge resonators. These folks often rely on instruction that doesn't offer feedback.

I invite these folks over to my place where they can just ask questions or request a technique demonstration or..anything. I offer encouragement and share what I know. I don't hesitate to point them to other resources.

The invite is extended to anyone in the area. The only thing I ask is that you don't waste my time.

These aren't "lessons". That requires planning, an instruction routine and a logical progression. I can tell who's really motivated and I'll typically see some of these these folks 4-5 times/year. I take great pleasure in monitoring their progress.

Note the zipcode above. If you're close and really motivated you might drop me a line.

I don't charge anything.

Nice sentiment Howard. I feel the same way, especially since I'm not qualified nor motivated enough to consider myself an instructor.

Luke, you could show me a thing or 2. ;-)

Eric, I don't have the patience to put together structured instruction.

My assistance might include how the player physically approaches the guitar or helping with the transition from single note playing to hammer-ons/pull-offs. I really enjoy when someone asks how i approach the neck, including common "pockets" or making choices between capoing/not capoing on specific keys.

I really enjoy the challenging sessions as I get as much out of it as my guests do!
