I just purchased a Dobro Resonator, round neck to play slide.
Serial Number is D 1154 6
Pictures added.
I was told it is a 1996 model, but online it looks like maybe early 70s
Any help would be appreciated

You're correct - it's a 1976.
But I don't see any photos on your home page, it might be that you're a new member.

It's a typical 60D R.
60 is the model number, D = wood body. R is roundneck as opposed to S for squareneck.
