I would like to share something very special with you fellow Reso enthusiasts.
With expressed permission from Henrietta Harlow, luthier Frank Harlows wife, I would like to show you photos of Frank Harlow's tombstone, designed by Henrietta with the help of good friend Mark Whetstone. The tombstone was set in place a few days ago. It's Granite, even the colored portions. The engraving on the guitar seen in person appears as if it's 3d per Mark. the Coverplate design is from a cover plate on Marks Harlow Jumbo Cherry which was hand engraved by a now deceased artist friend of Franks, a very special design. The inscription on the back side of the stone reads as follows:......"AFTER RETIRING FROM GENERAL MOTORS, WITH THE HELP AND SUPPORT OF HIS WIFE HENRIETTA, FRANK HARLOW WENT ON TO BECOME WORLD-RENOWNED GUITAR BUILDER. HE SPECIALIZED IN RESONATOR GUITARS. HIS CRAFTSMANSHIP WAS SECOND TO NONE, As EViDENCED BY THE NUMBER OF PROFESSIONAL ENDOR?EMENTS OFFERED BY TOP DOBRO PLAYERS AND BLUEGRASS MUSICIANS WORLDWIDE." There are 5 photos. I think Henrietta really put a lot of heartfelt love into this project, and Frank would be proud. Respectfully, Dan.
