I'm getting no output, is the mute maybe malfunctioning? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

All cords and plugs have been checked. Everything works fine until I plug it in and then nothing.

Is this a new problem with a previously known good unit or is the unit new to you?

Do you see power?

Step on the pedal for 10 seconds. Does the light flash?

Battery power or external power supply?

Screwdriver adjust on side turned up.

I've had the Jerry Douglas Aura for over a year now and have used it a half dozen times or more. Never had a problem. Power light is on either using battery or wall plug. Trim pot on side is adjusted all the way up-clock-wise. The light does flash when held down which is the Mute mode, pressed again and it should return to normal..right? Is there a reset button somewhere? I took the battery out for a few minutes to see if it would reset but it didn't work. AARRGG!!!

The button toggles between "Mute Mode"( mute/unmute) and "Bypass Mode" (Aura engage/bypass).

Here is the manual.

There is no reset. If you're convinced you've unmuted the device I'd call Fishman on Monday an arrange for a repair return. They are pretty good about that.

Also assuming you've checked everything "downstream" in your signal path. (physically bypass the Aura)

Thanks for the replies Howard, I really appreciate it! I wish I could be sure the mute feature was off, I keep repeatedly holding the button down and it flashes but no sound. I replaced the Fishman with a little booster box I have and it will have to do for the gig this weekend :(

When it flashes do you quickly depress it again?

Well, if all else fails, Plan B is in order.

UPDATE!!!
Well the good news is that I sent the Jerry Douglas Aura back to Fishman and they repaired it free of charge including shipping. It took about a month. Bad news, or "BAD LUCK" as they told me, is that it seems very simple and not a BIG deal unless you factor in that I relied on this pedal to be my sound reinforcement for my most important gig of the year and it totally failed when needed. There is a lesson to be learned somewhere in all of this and I find very little "comfort" in any of it...
They provided this bazaar explanation when I asked what went wrong.

Fishman tech:
"...it's a strange glitch that makes the sound engine essentially forget it's a sound engine and will stop producing sound when we plug it back into our system and reprogram the board it reminds it that it is a sound engine and it's able to produce sound again. In conclusion it seems to have been bad luck but our tech did say he's also never seen a pedal come back repeatedly for this issue ever and he's been doing repairs for over 20 years here if that's any comfort."

Well, sounds like a firmware (software) issue that they quickly resolved. If it’s any additional “comfort”, seems all the hardware components are fine.

When I relied on the Nashville Pickup and JD Aura rig, I always packed an SM57 or an Audio-Technica clip-on mic as backup. Pickups, pedals, cables, etc. can and do fail. I also found that out first-hand a couple times.

Glad they got you fixed up!

Electronics DO FAIL, even the overwhelmingly reliable units.

I always gig with a "Plan B" in case the worst case thing happens.

There's an old gigging adage that the more important the gig/opportunity, the greater likelihood of equipment failure.

The first time is always the worst.
