Hello.
The Dobro-logo on the headstock of my recently bought DM-75 is a piece of mother-of-pearl with the well-known lyre and the Dobro name on it. I assumed the black letters etc. were etched or lasered in the mop, so when I saw that the piece of mop had lifted from the recess in the wood I thought it simply would take some glue to get it in and straight again. When I put my fingernail behind it, to my astonishment it was just a kind of see-through plastic sticker that contained the name and emblem, and this on its turn was stuck to the mop. In the years (guitar is a '94), this plastic decal had become very brittle, so a little piece snapped off, one minute I had a Dobro, the next it was just an obro !?
Guess I can glue the broken piece in again, but I'm afraid the glue will be visible through the clear plastic, so that's why I think it might be better to buy a new decal, if this is at all possible. So, my question is if somebody knows if these Dobro-decals can be bought anywhere? Guess Gibson might not be a good place to start with?
Regards, John.

You might see if someone that works with pearl can engrave one for you. If not, you may have to contact a Gibson dealer.
