OK, here is the neck after I tuned it up to standard G tuning yesterday afternoon...Unless I'm imaging things, I see a definite "lift" from fret #5 to the nut..anyone else see it...this is a Square Neck, and if I leave it in that tuning, it will develop a bow, even more pronounced! The hound Dog is not a valuable enough instrument to warrant a luthier neck replacement or truss rod install (which is probably the route I would go),,,(cell phone photo again, sorry)

In the photo above it appears to me that a twist starts at the twelth fret. You might try some super glue at the joint to the body.
With the tension off naturally. There is definitely a bow.
On another line. Gibson didn't actually start manufacturing Dobros till 98. Prior to that they were still made in CA by the same OMI
artisans. I've never seen this before though. Poor piece of wood I guess.

The body/neck joint is intact. Its an OMI, has the OMI hang tag, made in 1990 (Serial#). Its a nice sounding Dobro. Nice and "woody", and relaxing it to "F" tuning makes it happy..
You can see why I don't leave it in "G"
