Just wanted to let everybody know Phil has outdone himself.

I have a reso of Phil's here at the house he donated to SEBA. This one's a solid Mahogany. I'm on the SEBA board and have been placed in charge of the guitar. I play it time to time just to be sure it still will. This one is going to be raffled off to someone for the benefit of SEBA. To you out side the south that's the Southeastern Bluegrass Association. Want a chance on it? Send me a PM or email. Oh me, am I out of line here.

But my point is we had a chapter meeting yesterday and Phil brought two more of his reso's to show. I set the one I have on the stand along with my display, and played the two Phil brought. One a Maple and the other a Walnut. For my ear the Maple is to bright. But the Walnut, Phil just out did himself on this one. As soon as I strummed it I know it was a killer. And it is. I played a number I wrote, mostly on the bottom strings, and it just blasted out the sound. Tone was good, shoot, just everything about it was plain good. Good, solid, clean, rich tone. Mike A would love it.

So my point is if you are ever down Phil's way, stop by and play the Walnut. But something tells me if it ain't in a hurry, you won't get the chance. There is no way that is going to stay with Phil very long. Heck, the wood is pretty.

Am i impressed? Yep, gotta say I am.

Do I sound like Bris48?

Play it again, Sam. Over, and over, and over:

Hey Preston,

Quit picking on my Cheerleader!

Seriously, glad to hear Phil has come up with such a winner of a reso. guitar. I am partial to the tone you get from walnut reso's too.

How does one go about getting one of those raffle tickets....?

You can hear one on this site. There is a song I dubbed into called "For Sale", There is a song called "How aGreat Thou Art", And one called "Tennessee Traveler". These are all on the Audio section. You will be able to play one if you visit me at my home, or wait till you get to Resosummit in November. If you are a member of Seba the tickets are available at the meetings or ask Preston. Thanks, Phil
