Hey hey,
Am I the only RedLine Reso head here or am I the only one that post......
Any how Update:
Had a friend take my RedLine Mahogany hot rod and see what he could get out of it and WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all he had to do was put on a heavier gauge string, everything else was "TO HOT TO TROT"
Steve builds some really amazing Resos
( especially the one "Green Rambler" I played at SPBGMA this year)

I am a Red Line fan and when I get my finances together (probably within the next 6 months) I'm going to give Steve a call and have a talk with him about his resos. Red Line is one of the top 3 on my list that I am researching for when the time comes. I've never played one and I am a ways from Steve's shop here in Kansas. Steve has several videos of his mandolins being played on his web site but only one of Rob Haines playing one of his resos. I'd really like to hear and see some other players to get a better feel for what the guitar is capable of. I'm no salesman but it seems to me if you want to sell something in a market that is pretty saturated with fine luthiers, you might want to use the internet to reach more potential clients. Steve, if you are listening, maybe get some other local Nashville players (even if they are unknown as long as they can play) to demo your resos for the camera and get them out there on YouTube. You've got a great start and I've got a great feeling about your guitars from all I've been reading but my ears are craving more information that I can hear for myself. Your beautiful guitars have definitely got my attention!

The concept of a luthier on either HIS website or you tube having various models to hear and see and identified by model name is helpful.currently being done by rob anderlik site, National guitar site, etc.It was done also by folk of the Wood site before they stopped retailing (other maker's) brands. The hear and see by model name was left on their website--but they no longer retail the models they are filming. A good concept that will spread by neciessity. Custom luthiers can't get retail music shop dealers in all the right towns--so filming various models being played is the way to advise the public.....whether it is part of You-Tuibe or not.

Seeing & hearing an instrument on youtube has always been a tremendous help to me in selecting instruments for purchase. Sometimes there are no soundclips to be had & youtube is the only source.

Hey, I'm a Red Liner, by virtue of the Rambler Deluxe I won here at the Hangout is my only reso. Good thing it's a great guitar. I am enjoying it more every day. The sound is outstanding, even more more remarkable because of the price point, and it's easy to play -- intonation, string spacing, string height, etc are all ideal for me.
I plan to post some sound clips if I can every get a few minutes of peace and quiet around here...

That would be great if you could post some sound clips! I had a fairly high profile picker by the shop yesterday, and we captured him picking on several of my reso. guitars by way of my Zoom H2 recorder. If I can take it to the next step, I'll try to pull some of those files from the H2, and put them up either here, on my website, or both.
Speaking of RedLineResoHeads, we just got a new one today, as a fellah in Viriginia just placed his order for a black lacquered RedLine Rambler DeLuxe. Also, I am expecting an already built one to be bought tomorrow, if things go according to plan.
So, hang in there, Bobby. There will soon be more guys with RedLine Reso's for you to play with in the Dobro Sandbox!

We got some stuff recorded, turned them into mp3 files, and created a spot on our RedLine website for them. So far, you can hear short clips of three models of Red Line Resophonic guitars, those being the Rambler, Hemi, and Pro Model. Hopefully we will be adding more sound clips soon.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about!!! Good crisp, clean recordings. Actually, I take that back. It's the resos that sound so crisp and clean. I like the avatars of the actual reso you are listening to, also the link to the model. Nice touch. The only thing I don't like about it is that I'm wanting more! Steve (and you, too Bobby) this is definitely a step in the right direction and really kicks it up a notch. You will be hearing from me.

DONE! That Black Beauty should get its body bound on Monday, and be finish-room-ready not long after that. That should get you one more RedLineResoHead around here, Bobby!
I'm hoping to get more sound clips as time goes by. I just got an invite to some free studio time, so that should help the cause greatly, and probably give better results than my Zoom H2, although I am real pleased with what it can do.
Thanks, too, for the kind words, Dan. We have been wanting to to this on the website for some time, but we have been so busy in the shop, it leaves little time for website work. Glad you like the little details too (Avatars, links, etc.). It's nice to know this stuff is being noticed!

I have been impressed with Steve and his RedLine Reso's for almost 2 years. This instrutment is so consuming and a joy to play around with, and Steve has always gone the "EXTRA" mile to help people (especially me) with questions and solving problem if any should arise.......... He always listens to ideas and comments with out getting defensive about his kids (resos)
He is definately on the right track as far as Resos are concerned.......
(Is that enough bragging Steve? I'll expect that Green Rambler in my hands SOON!, as payment................. ;-)
