I have a Regal RD 40 round neck that I am thinking about upgrading.
Beyond the nut, what improvements would make the biggest improvement, and what make/model would you recommend?
Thanks

Hi Tommy,
I've just upgraded my RD40 squareneck version. I changed the cone to a Quarterman, change the nut and change the bridge inserts to mapple/ebony.
The tone was improved a lot. Also increased the volume.

Thanks. Was the cone hard to replace? I take it that they are all the same size, but I am probably wrong!

When I upgraded my Regal - I sent it to Paul Beard Reso Outfitters. for $200 they update totally the instrument professionally.. BEST $200 I ever spent on repairs..It sounds 200% better now.

Hi Tommy,
I bought the Quarterman QC-10 which is a little smaller than the QC-1 cone (Asian size on the first vs USA size on the latter). It was pretty easy, i followed the stew-mac article to adjust to tension nut.
