today I installed a Lace a Ultra Slim pick up on my Appy. Now three of my resos have them and working with the JD Aura pedal dialed in to where my guitar sound is what I hear without the board or amps I use, I can play anywhere and be heard. This combination of the Lace and the Aura pedal works very well in any environment.

The only one I don't have a pick-up on at this time is my '30's Regal/Dobro. I have an old D'Armond 'monkey on a stick' from 1952 that I modified for the reso back in 1965 and used that for a long time along with some other sound modifiers. But since last year, I took it off and have been playing it through a Shure SM-81 directional mic in the studio. I understand that D'Armond pick-up brings in a lot of money to vintage guitar players..

I know this is off topic a little but I was looking at the Lace pick up for pedal steel guitars awhile ago and read somewhere that they pulled it due to some kind of patent problem. Have you heard anything about it? I think Lace pick ups are really top of the line in all regards.

Those D'Armond pick-ups were used by jazz guitarists in the early days of amplified guitars. They are considered 'vintage' by todays' standards and bring in around $450.00 to $600.00 on Craigs List.
