I am selling a Hiscox Lifelite “Pro II” guitar case that I bought a while back. It is the 00/medium classical size (ivory exterior/silver interior), which based on the dimensions given on the Hiscox website, seemed to be the best fit for my L-body Appalachian and B & B resos. The case did allow and nice snug fit for the bodies of both guitars and even with the squareneck in the neck cradle, the lid closed with very little, if any resistance. I did, however, make a few modifications to make it the very best fit possible for my guitars. I cut way some of the neck cradle on the body end to make a better fit for the thicker neck heel of a squareneck. I tried to glue some of the material back to where I made the cuts to make it a little more aesthetically pleasing. It’s not perfect, but not bad. I also cut the the two little cushions off of the top of the case where they pushed down on the neck and the coverplate to eliminate any excess pressure being put on these areas when the lid was closed.
Other than these modifications, the case is in “like-new”condition. It is extremely light and seems very sturdy. I have only used it a few times due to lack of storage, which is really my only complaint. The accessory box in the neck cradle is not large but will hold all of the necessities. My Poff and Martin Gross straps however, will not fit no matter how I roll or scrunch them up in either the accessory box or under the headstock. I am sure that if you were to use a Webb or narrower leather or cloth strap you would be fine, but those thicker straps just won’t fit.
I am looking to get $225 (shipping included) for the case. It also comes with a 2” Hiscox shoulder strap that I bought extra but never used.
