Hello all, I have a Fender squareneck , and have my eyes on a Gold Tone or Wechter,

Would you consider upgrading the cone and bridge/spider to improve the sound/intonation for say a couple of hundred bucks.........or just save the money for used Goldtone or Wechter dobro?

Northporter says: 5/10/2011 1:31:45 PM I bought a used Goldtone off ebay to save some money and then had to send it out to have it set up right. I didn't save a thing that way. But it made me think that I could have bought something cheaper and had a set up done and it would sound good When I first started looking at squareneck I liked the looks of the Fender and almost bought one. Not unhappy about the Goldtone, just wish trying to save money would have worked out. I guess I would have bought the Fender and had a good set up done thinking about it now. Just my thoughts.
