Had to post as it has been forever since I have.

I recently sprang for a mid 20's Knutsen lap steel. Actually it is called Hawaiian Harp steel. Originally came with an arm that anchored two bass strings + the reg six. there were variations that also had a quad of treble strings - arrayed like a hammer dulcimer - on the treble side. Arm is in the case but not mounted. HAs a replacement bridge as old one was toast, and the bridge is drilled from the two bass drone strings - but does not have a routed groove for the saddle. I'm not sure I will ever set it up that way. I scored this off Steel Guitar Forum... might have been on here.

Anyway... I have stayed away from really old vintage collectible stuff. I've been happy with my Pogrebas and one Lazy River. But the price was reachable.

Yeow! The tone on this instrument is dreamy. It has a crazy, rustic, ecclectic appearance but is well built and in great shape considering that it is just a few years younger than my dad. I will post some pics when I get a chance.
