Looking for opinions on the light colored section below the tuners. Is that a repair?

	jacknj says: 3/16/2019 8:24:55 AM Difficult to tell just by the pic, but my initial take is a repair. Unless someone decided to smooth the curved section of the area by sanding and was left with an unfinished section that didn't match the original area. But the shape of the lighter area says repair to me. That's a thinner part of the neck/headstock transition and is susceptible to cracks or breaks. On the Weissenborn style guitars I build, I have a more pronounced curved transition in that area and often times I use a scarf joint along with an 1/8" headplate veneer which all add to the strength of the headstock.
