Tony Francis Weissenborn

From RobA on 3/5/2011 12:43:15 PM

Looks my new Tony Francis Weissenborn should be arriving sometime in the next few weeks. I am getting pretty excited about this, to say the least. I've been a one-Weisse-guitar guy for over 20 years now (mid-1920's style 1) but after playing one of Tony's guitars a couple of years ago I knew I would have to order one. I've never played anything that so faithfully replicates the tone/playability of my vintage Weissenborn (and believe me, I've played lots of very fine replicas!).

Can't wait!

Hello Rob,
Just this morning was doing some weiss research and came across the post you made on ResoNation showing the woods Tony is using for your new hollow neck. It should be great. Is it going to be a Style One? I traded a few emails with Tony. He is a nice guy. I appreciate how he is building "true" to the originals with hide glue and such. I look forward to pictures. I also have to say that I like your website. I wish I still lived in Chicago, as I'd be knocking on your door for lessons.

Hey Z:

Yep, I'm having him make me a style 1 guitar. I love the simple elegance of the style 1 design! Thanks for your nice comments on my website. Appreciate that! BTW, I just started offering lessons via Skype and I have to tell you - after doing my first lesson today I am pretty excited about the possibilities of doing lessons this way. It works even better than I thought it would...

Thanks again!

Rob,

I'll keep that skype lesson idea in mind. I'd need to get a camera for the computer... shouldn't be too hard to do.

It will be very interesting to see how your new Style One compares to your original Style One.

Hi Rob,
I've been looking forward to hearing about your new Tony Francis Weissenborn. Have you received it? I'm really curious to hear how it compares to your old Weissenborn. It'd be great to hear them both side by side.

Thanks.
