Thanks Mike and hi everyone. I'm a longtime pedal steel player living in Alberta, Canada. The last few years I've become deeply involved with Weissenborn-style guitars, and in fact the bulk of my set at the upcoming Canadian steel Guitar Show in June will be performed on my Benoit Cajunborne. I'll try to get a better picture on my profile - that one was taken in the Benoit Room at the TSGA but Carroll sent me some better ones.

OK, this picture isn't so dark. That's my brother Rick from Toronto - he was also using a Benoit guitar - Carroll's personal instrument.

Carroll makes some outstanding instruments. He is a true innovator when it comes to building. Only problem is he's not in my neighborhood. lol I have never seen one of his available used either. I would love to here a sound clip of it. Get out your camera and give us some close-ups we don't see all that many. Mike

Mike, I will try to find time to do that. In the meantime, There are some great pictures available on Carroll's website - benoitguitars.com. If you go into the Gallery and click on the picture of the Cajunborne you can get an enlargement that allows you to click again to get close-ups of parts of it. I first encountered these instruments at the TSGA, where Carroll is always an exhibitor. He has a booth at the IBMA usually as well, I believe.I'm excited about a resonator he is building for me as well.

I would be excited to if I were getting one of his creations. Duh, I never thought to go to his web site and I have had it bookmarked so whenever I want to slobber I go there. hehehe.Of course I have to cover the keyboard. roflmao
