Mandorod says: 5/15/2012 6:30:23 PM OK, I am a lap steel/reso/weissenborn player from Philly who picked up lap styled playing about 5 years ago after playing guitar for about 30 years. I mostly play blues, folk and some bluegrass. I am a college prof by day and a musician by night playing in a couple of pickup bands. Otherwise, I spend my time chasing my 2 young kids around the house/neighborhood. As much as I like playing the electric lap steel and the reso, my biggest musical passion these days is the weissenborn and I was happy to see this site and know there are 40+ like minded players at RH.
	Grizz says: 5/15/2012 6:52:51 PM Too cool !!! I took lessons and played guitar for about 21/2 years at age 54. Then I had to give it up and when I could return at 62 thought I would try Dobro. That was a little over two years ago. Then like you I found the Wessie and fell in love. Along with the Wessie I still play Dobro, acoustic lap guitar (Oahu's and a Bronson) and a couple lap steels as well. I am the proverbial jack of all trades master of none right now, but I am working very hard at it but enjoying myself immensely. I don't really play any bluegrass. More Blues, Folk and Traditional. I don't want to let the cat out of the bag but there may be something coming down the pike soon for us Wessie players.
