What is the word on the Rayco brand weissie? I doesn't seem like there is much air time for this brand verus a bear creek, burgin, or an original weissie. It appears to be a Canadian* made instrument.

Looks like they start at $3200 usd, which could be a barrier for most, but curious how they stack up with some of the other more well known brands in that price range.

	Grizz says: 6/6/2012 3:15:07 PM Rayco and Ellis are neck and neck on this as far as I can see. I have never seen a comment on either of these Weissenborns. As far as build Rayco's reputation is good. I have heard good and "nothing to write home about" on their Resos as far as sound.. Orville Johnson has a Rayco lap acoustic that bot he he and I think sounds wonderful. And yes they are in the higher end as far as cost. Doug Cox, a great Canadian reso player, has a Rayco and the tone knocked by socks off a couple of weeks ago when I was at Doug's place on Vancouver Island.

Kind of sums it up don't it. Funny you should mention Doug Cox. I am working with his "Hot Licks for Blues Dobro" instructional DVD and I really like it. He seems like a really nice guy. I will have to pay attention to the Reso he is using on the video. Great stuff. He is a master. How the hell did you get to go to his place? You lucky bugger.
