Hermann built a handful of mandolins in two different eras. My friend Chris Merwin has a 1912 carved mandolin with two points and eyebrow-looking sound holes. It has a paper label with Hermann's name on it and a 12th Street address. I have seen two others like this.
I have a 1923 flat-top with a round sound hole and the famous burned-in brand. I have seen one other like this one, but with two additional smaller sound holes adjacent a larger one..
I have been trying to find a way to upload photos to show you, but I haven't been successful. Does someone know how?
