There is a nice looking Michael Dunn Weissenborn on eBay with about a day left in the auction. I sent a note to the seller informing him that the back and sides, as well as the fretboard, are koa wood. I know Michael personally, have one of his guitars, and can vouch that his craftsmanship is impeccable. The bid is up to $910, and this is at least a $2500 guitar.

	playaka says: 10/15/2012 1:48:00 AM I notice it says on the auction that the bottom is "bout 3" deep" Is this shallower than a normal weiss? I had a look at a shallow one in Nashville and it sounded awful in comparison to the deeper body ones in the shop. I was thinking about having a sneaky bid on this guitar. Anyone else have any thoughts on this instrument?
	Matt says: 10/15/2012 3:06:52 AM Hey Adam, there is a full stop in there! It is 3" deep and has a 15.25" bottom bout. If Tom vouches for Michaels craftsmanship then I would not hesitate to bid. Tom really knows what he is talking about (:
	Tom_Noe says: 10/15/2012 7:44:20 AM Adam, The body depth on a production vintage Weissenborn is about 3 inches, although when starting out Hermann built them shallower. I have seen one just one inch thick! Those earlier shallow ones don't sound as good as the later ones. This Michael Dunn Weissie has the specs of a production Weissenborn.
