Bear Creek Weissenborn Coming Soon !!

From Dutch on 10/29/2012 8:25:07 AM

Hi All,

Just wanted to share my excitement with everyone.

Last September (2011) I ordered a Bear Creek Weissenborn MK from Bill Hardin. Estimated finish time was 6 months.

Well, as you might have heard, Bill had a terrible accident earlier this year. He injured his hand pretty badly. My guitar was next on his build list.

I felt so bad for Bill and also (selfishly) for my hopes of owning a Bear Creek  MK .

Well, the good news is that Bill is back to building! He had started working on my guitar and will be sending me progress pictures as he proceeds. So I will share the pix with you all as I receive them.

Bill is a great builder and I am so looking forward to  receiving and playing my new Bear Creek Weissenborn.

Thanks for letting me share my adventure.

Very Best Regards,

Ken McAlack

Congrats Ken, you must be on cloud 9 about the good news. When I get my lessons ordered from Troy I will start learning open D on a Rogue SQU-Neck, I know, a very cheap way to go but if I can get along with it well, I'll order as good an instrument that I can afford. Look forward to the MK pics.

Congratulations, Ken What a thrill! I've got 2 Bear Creeks (MK and a Kona), and I love them both. I'm on my way to L.A. tomorrow, and will be stopping by Bill's to have him install a Baggs M1 in my MK. I'll say hello to your instrument-in-progress.

Hi Liz,
That would be great. Please say "Hi" to Bill for me.
Maybe you could take a few pix of the shop and my MK also 8-)....
How are you enjoying your MK? Has it been everything that you wanted?
Best,
Ken

Congratulations Dutch! There's nothing like the anticipation of a new instrument to get you all psyched up for playing! Please be sure to post some pics and hopefully sound clips or video clips.

Ken, I saw the back of your guitar today. The braces are all on but not trimmed. It's from the same huge log as my MK, with similar grain. She's going to be gorgeous. I'll repost my build pictures on my home page when I get home the weekend.

Thanks Liz,
Yours is beautiful! I'd love to see pix again. The grain pattern is very, very nice.

Best,
Ken
