There is a very early pre-label Weissenborn on eBay like the ones in the group photo. This one is so early it has the dressmakers' seam tape joining the back plates. I would place this guitar in the 1915 time frame.

RobA says: 11/16/2012 7:36:06 PM I looked at the guitar on eBay but I don't really know anything about it. Curious, is this considered an especially valuable guitar? Also, wondering how this would compare to guitars made in the golden era from 1922-1926?
	Tom_Noe says: 11/16/2012 7:56:19 PM While it is a very early example of HW's work, Tony Francis tells me that the guitar has been restored and refinished, which devalues it substantially. And with a thin body and spruce top, it cannot compare with guitars made in the 'golden era.'
	Liz Williams says: 11/18/2012 9:00:16 AM Just checked ebay for this one and found it plus 2 more Weissenborn hollow necks, a kona, and a ukulele. Only the ukulele seemed priced realistically. There is also a Rayco Hollowneck that is spectacular-looking. A person could really get into some serious inventory this week on ebay. Sad that the seller of the 1915 guitar had it refinished - ouch.
	Tom_Noe says: 11/18/2012 9:40:38 AM It's 'buyer beware' time on eBay. One fellow has two Style 1s in bad shape, overpriced at $3k. The Style 4 Kona in England has cracks and is refinished, ridiculously priced at nearly $4K.

	Seabass says: 11/21/2012 9:44:22 AM I agree, prices are ridiculous for some weissenborn guitars on ebay. However, the good thing is that it seems there are not many people paying that much money as some sellers keep relisting their items with no success...
