Finally got my, uh, "inexpensive" Weissenborn. I've played bottleneck for decades, lap steel off and on, and so have stuck w/ pretty straight taro patch, D and maybe E tunings. Put an A6 on the little Epitome lap steel (absolutely best sounding lap steel on the planet!), and am absolutely digging it. But the poor little dude is pretty cranked up, even w/ some adjustments in string gauge. W/ the longer scale and lighter construction, I want to make sure the Weissie gets the right gauges. I've read that A6 and C6 can use similar gauges, but not sure.
Recommendations/input welcome. Also, point me toward any prior threads;...should have searched first I suppose...
