Hi Guys

I was just listening to the wonderful tone master himself Ed Gerhard playing his weissenborn and thought hang on! Ed seems to have quite a reputation for playing the weissenborn, he's regarded as somewhat of a modern day torch bearer for the instrument and is held in the highest of regards amongst the weissenborn community, but...... I can only think of 4 tracks that he actually plays weissenborn as the sole instrument. Homage, Shallow Brown, Killing the blues, and Rye Whiskey ( oh and White Christmas). That's not a lot of recordings for such a weissenborn related artist. Can anyone point out any other recordings his has used the weissenborn on? As I only have digital downloads of his albums I don't have sleeve notes to refer to (those were the days lol). Anyways youhelp would be greatly appreciated in this matter guys, thanks :-)

	bahilton says: 4/15/2013 3:26:07 PM I saw Ed live a few months ago in New Hampshire, and I was disappointed to only see him play one song on weissenborn (Rye Whiskey). Don't get me wrong, the rest of his performance was AMAZING, I was just hoping for more weiss. I did manage to get a close look at Ed's Weissenborn, it's gorgeous! Custom made for him by Breedlove, it has short frets under the 6th string only. Never seen the like!

	Aron says: 4/16/2013 7:05:44 AM Hi Bahilton, Just found out Ed is coming to the UK in June but it's at the other end of the country to me, it's a long way to go for one weissy tune :-( I saw those frets on YouTube and read once that because he used to play an adapted guitar slide style the action was low enough to still fret notes, as he got older and better instruments he still wanted the fretted option which he only really uses on the bottom string. His songbook tabs those notes for you and always makes me laugh when I try and play because I can't get those combination of notes in my weissy :-) Liz, looking forward to anything you may uncover, thanks :-)
