My koa weissenborn pictorial video diary

From Aron on 7/27/2013 7:26:37 AM

Check out this video on YouTube:

http://youtu.be/rBzak-Ys5Ko

This is a pictorial dairy of the building process of a solid koa weissenborn style guitar. It was made by Italian luthier Ermanno Pasqualto of Herrmann Guitars. From placing the order to delivery took a little over 3 months. It was always our idea to document the while process from beginning to end and contained within this video is over 200 photographs (taken from a pool of 500+) lovingly taken by Ermanno during the build. I have also documented all the stages of the build in my face book page dedicated to weissenborn guitars, it's called "The Weissenborn Information Exchange". Playing over the whole video are improv instrumentals I have acoustically recorded (no effects, no edits just the raw recordings) specially for this video, hopefully showcasing its wonderful rich warm tone this amazing instrument has. As you can imagine I am over the moon with my new guitar and I would take this opportunity to thank Ermanno for his wonderful work, you are an amazing luthier and a perfect gentleman. Any comment, questions welcome and thanks for watching :-)

That was a feast for eyes and ears, Aron. Beautiful pictures and lovely playing. No wonder you are over the moon. Try to remember to eat and sleep, eh? ;-)

Does the CD cover at the end mean your CD is ready?

As I posted on YouTube in reply to your kind comments... The cd is an ongoing project that is something I'm working on in my spare time and I will make it happen but I'm still on a learning curve both creatively and technically. I have 4-5 tracks I'm happy with creatively and now I have a new Weissy :-) and new microphones the technical side is starting to progress too I hope to have written and recorded 10-12 tracks by the end if the year and take it from there. I will keep everyone updated on "the weissenborn information exchange" on Facebook as well as here of my progress, many thanks for the interest :-)

Those are a big learning curves. Whenever it gets done, it'll be worth waiting for.
