Bob Blair and I are at the Healdsburg guitar festival this weekend, and look what we found: A squareneck lap steel. It's got a beautiful even and punchy tone. I took a video and will post it as soon as I figure out how.

Scott Walker is a Santa Cruz, CA luthier. He's got a blonde version of the electric lap steel that appears on his home page:

	Bob Blair says: 8/12/2013 4:58:35 AM Yes this guitar is in a different league than the Goldtone (which is a pretty cool instrument I have always thought). Scott does fantastic work. He also let me play an incredible fretless electric he built that has a sitar bridge and a sustainiac pickup (which kind of works like an e-bow). Jayson Bowerman (bowermanguitars.com) has a glass steel guitar that words don't do justice to (it is a project done in collaboration with an artist - there is a picture on the website) and he let Liz and I play it. He has made some beautiful weissenborn-style guitars but did not have one with him. Add in a few seminars by some of the best guitar players anywhere and some time to play music with new friends and it was a great trip.
