Glad to have you here. Tell us how you discovered the Weissenborn, and feel free to ask any questions. There's a lot of knowledge in this group.

I'm mostly a Fingerstyle Blues player (also played banjo for a long time), and have been playing Bottleneck for about 5 years. I put a nut extender on my National Tri-Cone and bought a "tone Bar(?)" and started trying to see if I stand a chance with Lap Style. After watching a few Troy lessons on Youtube, I think I can do this. The Bottleneck songs seem to transfer well, and have a unique feel that I like in Lap Style. So now I'm putting money aside, laying the ground work on my wife, and trying to figure out what to buy. Of course I start doing a lot of reading on here and begin to wonder if I'd be better off with a Dobro (beacause of all the lesson material available), but since I've wanted the Weissenborn for so long I'm going with that. Whew... that was a mouthful.

I have an all-mahogany hollowneck that growls more than the all-koa ones I've played. Look over to your right to find Sheebeg and Sheemore by bahilton. He's playing a mahogany and walnut Lazy River. Rance White makes lovely guitars and sometimes lists his builds in progress on Resohangout at lower than retail prices. We've also got a couple of premium builders from down under in this group - Paddy Burgin and Tony Francis. Paddy is a fantastic player as well. You may as well start working on your wife for a dobro and a Weissenborn. :-)
