Hey you guys missed it last week in Phoenix. There was a non-pedal day that started out with a session on arranging for non pedal which certainly applies to the Weissenborn and then an afternoon of some of the best players there are, including our own Bob Blair doing a set. Bob did a great job with his Cajunborn and his Baritone Weiss and I got to meet a just nice guy and fellow Weiss player. Mark your calendars for next year, you won't want to miss it.

	Bob Blair says: 1/24/2014 11:07:15 AM Thanks Niels. I kept thinking that something as fun as that weekend was must be illegal! To perform in front of people who are, to me, musical heroes, is an indescribable thrill (although I fortunately did not know that Bobby Black was in the room until I spoke to him afterwards - he may well be the reason I play steel guitar at all!). But I can't say enough about the dedication and hard work of the organizers - this show is a labour of love for them and involves a huge commitment of time and resources. I came away with so much good musical stuff to think about and to try to incorporate into my own playing that my head is still spinning. And I had a blast talking with Niels about any number of things, musical and otherwise. To give you a sense of this show, you can see the official photos posted here: swsteelguitar.com/2014Show/

	Bob Blair says: 1/25/2014 8:51:47 AM Last year was my first year at this event and it immediately became a priority for me to go - just so much inspiration in a few short days. The other event that I love and recommend is coming up in March - the Texas Steel Guitar Association Jamboree in Dallas (well, Irving actually, convenient to the DFW airport for anyone who finds airport strips inspiring….but very easy to get to). The TSGA also has a non-pedal venue….two whole days of it in fact. Anyone who has any questions feel free to contact me. I will start a separate topic about the TSGA.
