Has anyone out there tried the Republic parlor sized resophonics, like the Miniolian and the Highway 61? I may be going overseas off and on and would like to not carry my Dobro 33. I'm particularly curious as to how they do in standard tuning with fingering rather than slide. Does anyone know another company that is making similar sized resophonics? I might consider a tenor model. Tried a Johnson Mandolin for a shile but it was a disaster and not reliable. Spent more working out bugs than playing it.
