I am a professional classical guitarist and amateur bluegrass player, and play in all styles of music, except Jazz. I freelanced in Toronto starting my career in the early 90's.as a performer. I left music for a time, because I had burnt out. I kept playing though, and developed my own style, of playing drawing on masters like Don Ross, and Jerry Donahue, just to name a couple. I have always dabbled in bluegrass and alternative instrumentalist styles, but for some reason overlooked the dobro, and this Feb (2017) I got virused bad, by the sound and possibilities of what could be done on Dobro(I call it the Dobby!). I found a passion for the instrument that I once had in my youth. (I am 51). and due to arthritis I plan to devote the rest of my life to mastering the Dobby and teaching.
