High im a young dobro player going to SPC in levelland, Tx. I have been playing on this regal black lightning for a while now and finding out its limiting me to some things. Some other Dobro players gave it a real nice set up which has added so much body and tone along with beard special gauge strings. I recently got to play on a beard dobro, a handmade Fraiser model, and a schoonover which all three where a good two or three steps above mine. I am just curious what is pretty good models of dobros inbetween mine and thers. I understand there price range is around 3,500 to 4,000 which right now i dont have a chunk like that. I have a frankenstein telecaster with some really good parts on it along with a pignose tube amp that im willing to sell or trade if it is to a better cause. My regal black lightning has a fishman pickup in it as well so that helps tremendously if im at a jam or gig. I would give that up as well but only if i can replace it with another dobro haha. So give me some feedback yall.
I appreciate it very much,
DobroDill
