Make my living as a model maker / prototype machinist. Love to tinker with and bring old banjos back to life. Love cats, motorcycles (Airhead BMW's and bevelhead Ducati's), photography, exploring fire watch towers off in the mountains of the Pacific northwest, WW II history, aviation, crows and raptors, and collecting obscure music. I have a reso guitar and I also have a Asian made Weissenborn copy too, but am much more devoted to playing clawhammer banjo. I love the sound of a slide guitar, but need to put in more time to get better at it. I have the basics down, but need to expand and refine my skills much more. Hopefully this site will get my enthusiasm up to do so. I have been finger picking my Martin for 20+ years and have just started to play the musical saw. So far it just sounds like the Martians have landed and I get the local dogs to howling! I love taking apart instruments and refining them and have had good success with set ups, both on open back banjos and resos. I bought a rat "Liberty" reso and turned it into a decent sounding rig with just a afternoon of cleaning up the very sloppy work that the factory did. Got taken to the cleaners once by non other than Matt Rowe (Raymond Boze) of www.resonatorguitars.com. (now defunct) That SOB still owes me $1500.00 for a reso guitar.
