Does a round neck resonator guitar nedd to have a thru neck stick or can it be built with a neck block and a bolt on neck?

Also is there a great difference in sound if you build without a soundwell, or just with soundposts and baffle, or without baffle.

I am planning to build a solid wood, round neck and would like some advice. Are their any sound bites that would highlight such differences?
