Bottleneck and lap-style slide. Old Time and Cajun fiddle
Gosh, there are so many..... I like so many original blues slide players, it would be hard to pin them down. I guess Fred McDowell would be near the top of the list. For modern bottleneck, I am a huge fan of Sonny Landreth.
As far as lap style players; Jerry Douglas (who doesn't), Kelly Joe Phelps, Greg Leisz, Rob Ickes, Mike Auldridge, and on and on...

I started playing slide in 1991, about when I started playing guitar. Standard guitar playing just didn't do much for me, and slide did. I got my first resophonic shortly thereafter, and haven't had a guitar in standard tuning since. I went to the Augusta Heritage Workshops for 7 - 8 years and studied slide with some great players. This year I went back after a long absence and worked on fiddle playing. I was a member of several local bands, the last being a blues-based trio called 32-20. In the 1990's I started and ran a company called Webb Straps making a variety of musical instrument straps based on my experience making outdoor and rock climbing equipment. In the early 2000's I sold the company to Paul Beard, who is a good friend of mine. In the 2000's I worked in a local music store and repaired guitars professionally, specializing in resophonics.
