Hello everyone,
I am new to the group and relatively new to playing guitar, but am I sure everyone can relate when I say I am itching to acquire a second guitar.
I am a blues enthusiast and love the bottleneck slide sound and Delta blues finger picking. I enjoy playing my Tanglewood in open D and open G tuning. I am in the market for a resonator.
I stumbled across a Republic Classic Spider Maple, model # RS-1 on line from Groth Music Company and feel in love with the looks of it. I have been reading various reviews of Republic and it seems the majority of owners are very happy with their guitar. I have reached out to Frank to see if I can order this model direct since there are no dealers in my area.
I have read on another site selling this same guitar that this model had the classic "bluegrass" tone. This got me wondering if this model would then be suitable for blues?
If anyone owns this model, I would love to hear your thoughts.
I am also considering 2 other models:
Gretsch G9200 Boxcar Standard and a Regal RD-40. Anybody have thoughts on these 2?
Thanks for your input and I look forward to being a part of this online group.
Jeff
