Played a bunch when I was young, gave it up to get educated and develop a career, returned in mid-life. Took up music again in middle age when my rheumatologist told me to "use 'me or lose 'em," that is, my fingers. At the time I couldn't hold a guitar so I picked up the mandolin and banjo (clawhammer) and eventually found a guitar small enough for me to hold. Recently I've decided I like slide and am trying to learn blues guitar in both the lap and the Spanish positions. Truth to tell I'm just horrible on any instrument I play, but I enjoy myself. Oh, and I still have use of my fingers!
