First Blog Ever

Well, I Joined this site because I'll do whatever I can to better myself. I feel like there is a lot of tools on this site that can help me improve my dobro playing. I have been playing guitar for about 18 years and have loved it, but I have always loved the sound of a dobro and lap steel. I never really thought about learning how to play one until about a few months ago and I have been hooked ever since. Every chance I get I sit down and try and learn a new lick or song. I jam out a lot with a buddy of mine at the fire house when we are slow. I feel like I have picked it up pretty quick because of my experience with a guitar. I have to admit though when I really think about it I have put in a ton of hours playing my Regal Black Lightening! I can sit down and start playing and before I know it, it has been 3 hours! I can't get enough of it and I want more than anything to play like Jerry Douglas, who I have been a LONG time fan of. Well I guess that is enough about me. Hope to meet some awesome musicians on here and maybe even jam with some of you one day.
