Brass bodied resonators - electrified......

Friday, January 23, 2015

Just finise..hed the second non-invasive conversion to my 12 fret Busker Deco tri-cone..Homemade pickup from a humbucker winds and thin magnet. Used a 1970 Kay pickup (without cover) on my Recording King 14 fret single cone. Added strap pins at the neck heel, so I can stand for gigging.

Both guitars sound awesome, both clean and dirty. Feedback can be an issue at higher gain settings, but can be controlled reasonably well, just by damping.

Got a full-on delta blues set list and a couple of rehearsals then we're good to go. First thing is probably trying to home record an EP, then send it round with a press kit.

Both resonators are great guitars and play wonderfully; plus they're great for gigging - Always get plenty of great feedback, along with a number of musicians thinking the Busker is a National...!!!

Who needs electric solidbodies or wood acoustics when you've got blistering noiseboxes like these..!!

Peace....
