Fell in love with the sound on a Flatt & Scruggs compilation...didn't know what it was until I heard Norman Blake's stuff on the first Circle album. Played banjo first, then a band member got hold of a pre-war Dobro and loaned it to me. Taught myself and been playing it as a fourth-or-fifth instrument ever since.
