Gaucho- What a great family photo! I saw it on the Big Road Blues Forum a while ago. That chicken foot is a beauty. Which single cone do you prefer? ~Zissou

The wood bodied NRP probably has the best all around sound, but the vintage Nationals are my favorites. I just traded the tricone for a 1979 Dobro Squareneck. That thing has great tone too.

On the left is a '32Duolian with no finish left on it (Duco originally), just rusty, tarnished steel. Sweet! On the right is a '31 Style 0. The chicken foot coverplate is a genuine '30s National Chickenfoot, but they didn't come available until "35 or so. This one has been on there a very long time and the theory is that it originally had the hooks on cover plate which always seemed to break. So it was replaced with the chicken foot. They both sound different and I love 'em both!

That Radio Tone looks like it's 80 years old, not 20. The Style O is fantastic... from the head badge to the cover plate. Having said that, the Duolian is a classic, rust and all. Is the Tricone an NRP or Republic? I can't make out the headstock.
