Sound

Great sound... rich and full but not harsh. To my ear it has a really nice warm, mellow tone. When attacked it has plenty of punch but also responds well to a softer more melodic approach. 2007 Model Serial Number 127.

Setup

Well set-up. It appears that setup changes would be easily accomplished. It was originally purchased in 2007 by a gentleman in North Carolina from Blue Moon Guitars. He became seriously ill and the instrument was never played much (if at all).

Appearance

Maple (solid) finished dark with natural maple bindings on body and fret-board. Snowflake position markers. Beautifully finished and well fitted out. Nothing gaudy or overstated but very appealing!

Very good hardware and my estimation is that it will last . The finish appears to be very solid and is applied very well.

Customer Service

Asked a lot of questions of Mark and Jason as I was contemplating it because the widow of the original purchaser had no idea of any of the specifics. Super-nice Gentlemen with prompt and helpful answers. No warranty as I bought it used but I would have no qualms about sending it to Mark and Jason if I needed work done!

The instrument is extremely well put-together... quality spider, cone and ebony-capped maple bridge. Tail-piece and tuners also high quality.

Overall Comments

I am a complete novice at the reso but I looked at and test-drove a lot of them. I already had a sound "in my head" that I was looking for and this one met the requirements more closely than anything else I found. Now that I have had it a couple of weeks I can honestly say that if I hadn't found this one used and found a new Rayco with this sound, I would have coughed up the money for a new one. I may not be much of a player yet but it isn't from lack of having a great instrument!
