Sound

I've been playing it almost non stop for a couple of days. Excellent tone. It produces rich lows with nice variety of tones depending on picking position between bridge and tone holes. Also has very nice balance and punchy upper mids and crisp high end. It can be played with a light touch and still produce good volume or dig in for extra punch without wimping out. I really do love the sound of this guitar.

Setup

It arrived in D tuning and I tuned it up to G so I could compare with my other resos. I've been playing for many hours with no retuning needed. Playability and set up is excellent.

Appearance

It's a work of art. If you have one, you know what I mean. This is a koa large body and the wood and craftsmanship are first rate. I really like the subtle design features and details like the shaped heel and heelcap, the double headstock overlay and the woods selected for the fingerboard, binding and headstock.
Doug is a real craftsman. This instrument looks and feels like a piece of fine furniture.

Overall Comments

Fishook guitars are an excellent value for the money. In my opinion, they stack up very favorably with the best high end guitars out there..... and I've played most of them. I'm really looking forward to gigging and recording with this one. VERY IMPRESSED. I'll likely get another one.
