Overall Comments

I have been involved with music at every imaginable level over the past 30 years or so. Never have I encountered a more friendly, more inviting, more pleasant event than ResoGat in Wilkesboro, NC.

Players of all levels playing, learning, sharing, and celebrating their love of music and the resonator guitar in an extremely laid back setting.

If you've been - you know. If you haven't - you need to make plans to attend.

Sound

From deep, throaty bass notes, to clear-as-a-bell highs, the RedLine Rambler series sounds as sweet as could be.

I lean toward a more bluesy sound when playing lead, but I like a richer jazz feel when playing rhythm. I like my instruments to blend nicely, but be capable of obtaining an edgy "bite" when I ask them to. The Rambler gets me there with ease.

Setup

Setup was perfect. It had just made one trip from the shop to the show, and I subjected it to motel-style AC, then took it on another trip home. Everything was good.

Appearance

My Rambler has a birch ply body. The finish is more a satin, which is one of the things I was looking for. Shiny, high gloss finishes leave me wanting to polish instead of playing. The finish appears to be durable, but doesn't look all funky after playing it a couple of hours.

Reliability

The finish appears to be durable. I have had no trouble with any of the hardware. I'd never play anywhere without a backup, but this Rambler leaves me confident I won't need anything else too close.

Redline Resophonics cranks out high quality, affordable instruments. This won't be my "only" RedLine for long.
