This is a slow free style version that I'll be playing on a Brazilian Rosewood, Fairchild Dobro® with a spruce top.

You done Hank proud. I assume this is a different Raymond Fairchild than the famous banjo player.

Hey Lumpy.......Yes this Raymond Fairchild lives in Whitehall PA
He had been playing bass with several local bluegrass bands....and building guitars....Dobros....Mandolins...other
for quite a few years. His workmanship is fantastic.......he has been stalled for close to three years.....since his wife has fallen ill plus he also has a number of health issues.
Ray doesn't take orders ....he builds an instrument....then offers it for sale.
As far as I know, Ray has seven Dobros started.....from three years ago...but isn't sure when he will get finish them..
Ray also wanted to build a pedal steel....and asked me if I talk with him about that....and possibly loan him my 1970's Emmon's S10.....push-pull and also possibly machine up the changer mechanisms.
Ray is terrific person and good friend......don't know if you ever come eastern PA....if you do .....let me know and I'll give you a chance to test drive one of the Fairchilds that I have.
Thanks Lumpy.....oh by the way.....when I was about 13 years old....there was a rodeo ranch a few miles from Bethlehem PA......named Sleepy Hollow Ranch........Sundays they had stage shows.....lots of big name performers would come there ....well at that time I was playing pedal steel with a local band named The Country Cousins....and we backed up Smiley Burnette.......also in 1962 we backed up Grandpa Jones at the Walton New York Fair...I noticed you have his photo at your blog spot........I assume you play claw hammer banjo.......darn I wish I could play that instrument....Ricky Skaggs ..doin' Little Maggie.....just haunts me.....I just love that performance.
Keep in touch....
