Looking good, Jack!

I had a chance to play a few of Jack's guitars recently and they sound as good as they look. I think I had the Weissenborn pictured above on my lap for a bit last weekend. Jack makes nice guitars and each one seems to have a unique feature or two in their design and build.

I appreciate the kind words from all. Tomorrow I should be cutting the dual nut on the Kona and install the saddle. I will probably do some finishing work on the body too to blend some of the tones. The 8-string Weissenborn I'm building is underway and I decided to go with the customer's original request of doing a rope moulding rosette. Fortunately, I had made some straight lengths of rope moulding a couple of years ago with mahogany and maple . The moulding as is can't be "bent" but I ended up cutting segments of the 1/4" wide strips and fitting them into the 1/8" rosette slot.
Dennis, as a side note we should find out who else might be interested in the "Hellertown Sessions". I'll send some more pics of the ongoing builds when they reach certain stages. By the way, what happened with your uke?

Heh heh! The uke. Well I suppose instruments find their true purpose in time. The tenor like is used for entertaining our grandson. I get to play such classics as "Bah Bah Blacksheep" and the theme song to "Peg + Cat". It's a tough crowd to play for.

Nice looking guitar there. What scale length and bracing pattern did you use?

25" scale length. The bracing is a modified V-bracing which extends up into the neck area.

The maple Weissenborn style guitar has been sold at a different venue. Feel free to contact me with any interest in my guitar builds, Weissenborn style guitars, laminate and solid, 6 and 8 string versions. Also, my resonator guitar builds, smaller body dimensions, shorter scale, but no sacrifice in tone or volume. One is currently listed.
