Does anyone have a good solo dobro Tab for the Beatles tune Yesterday in the Key of G? Need to get it quickly to work on for a gig in early November..

Troy Brenningmeyer has a nice version on YouTube.

I don't know if he has done a tab or lesson for the arrangement. I don't see it on Lessons With Troy.   But ... his video is shot like he's giving you a lesson sitting right in front of you.  It's all there to see.  You can slow it down, stop it, loop it.  Everything is right there for your ears and your eyes to see, hear and learn.  What more could a player ask for?  Yeah, I know, the tabs.

Thanks Dennis, I have seen the Troy you tube...very nice.....I was hoping for something a little more solo dobro style...not needing guitar backing....

There are other video versions of Yesterday on youtube which do a better job at the chord structure. There's a lot to be learned there. But the videos I remember are not as easy to see and I don't recall them being in G.

Of course the chords transposed to G are available on the Internet. Such as here: http://adamschneider.net/music/misc/?song=yesterday

You could marry those up with Troy's melody playing.  Many of the chords will naturally sit under the bar at the position where Troy is playing the melody notes.

I'd say the ultimate trick is to use the descending/ascending bass notes between each melody phrase to suss out the chord positions.

I took a shot at tab for this tune - it's in the Tab section on this site if you want to check it out.
