The Imperial would be similar to a Gold Tone factory built weissenborn I believe.
The Paddy Burgin is a boutique brand and played by some famous musicians.
The Jack Stepick Weissenborn is handmade by Jack in New Jersey. He is a member here on the Hangout. I have played some of his guitars and they sound quite good. Each guitar of his that I have seen is a little bit different. Unique instruments. Jack is a regular participant at the local Dobro gatherings nearby. Wouldn't hurt to send him a message,
Just a thought.
Trapper... Depending on your pricepoint. I have been hanging on to an Asher style 1 for a while...but I’m really heavy on the weissenborns. I bought it directly from Bill at a slight discount. Not sure if you’re familiar with the Ashers, but they are some of the most authentic, developed from years of rebuilding and repairing originals. This was a catalog photo guitar that I got from him at NAMM...when I picked it up in his room....I couldn’t put it down. That was a sign. His guitars come with really sturdy, snug fitting
Cedar Creek cases. If you’re looking for entry level this isn’t that...but I think its a good value for a high ender....
